2013/11/07 – Visita a capital / Visiting the capital

Acordamos cedo e fomos visitar as Pirâmides de Teotihuacan, chegamos tao cedo que tivemos que esperar o parque abrir. A vantagem é que pelo fato de chegarmos cedo, conseguimos tirar umas fotos sem aquela onda de turista… Subimos os 264 degraus da pirâmide do sol onde pudemos apreciar uma vista muito bonita. A pirâmide do sol é conhecida como a terceira maior pirâmide do mundo, só perdendo para o Egito.
Confesso que tudo fica pequeno depois que você conhece as Pirâmides no Egito, mas mesmo assim valeu muito a pena.

Depois do parque seguimos para cidade do México. Que loucura, que trânsito, muita pobreza, motociclistas andando sem capacete, gente vendendo coisas no meio das pistas com carros passando a alta velocidade, não existe o menor respeito no trânsito na cidade do Mexico. Confesso que chocou. A nossa única preocupação foi achar um hotel e estacionar a moto o mais rápido possível. Conseguimos até matar as saudades do cheiro de esgoto, mesmo cheiro de São Paulo capital que algumas vezes emana. Quando viajamos de moto ou carro, entramos pela porta dos fundos e acabamos conhecendo muita coisas que os turistas que chegam de avião não conhecem.

Depois de acharmos o hotel e moto estacionada e segura, resolvemos caminhar até o centro. Melhor decisão que tomamos pois dirigir no centro seria suicídio.
A cidade uma loucura, não existe o menor respeito no trânsito, é a famosa terra do salva-se quem puder.
O centro bem interessante, com muitas construções antigas e lindas igrejas. Visitamos também o Templo Mayor que são as ruínas bem no centro da cidade, vale a pena.
Passamos o dia caminhando por todo o centro.

Muita loucura e stress para poucas horas mas que valeu a pena. No final do dia até sentimos nosso olho arder de tanta poluição.

We woke up early and went to visit the Pyramids of Teotihuacan , we arrived so early that we had to wait for the park to open . The advantage is that because we arrived early, we can take photos without that wave of tourists … We climbed the 264 steps of the pyramid of the sun and enjoyed the beautiful view. The Pyramid of the Sun is known as the third largest pyramid in the world , second only to Egypt .
We confess that everything is small after you visit the Pyramids in Egypt , but even so it was very worthwhile .

After the park we went to Mexico City. What madness , traffic,  poverty , motorcyclists riding without helmets , people selling things in the middle of the road with cars passing at high speed. There is not the slightest respect for the traffic in the Mexico City. We confess that we were shocked . Our only concern was to find a hotel and park the bike ASAP . We even managed to remember  the smell of sewage , the same smell of São Paulo capital sometimes. When we travel by bike or car, we go through the back door and we see a lot of things that tourists arriving by plane do not have a chance to see.

After we found the hotel and bike is safely parked, we decided to walk to the downtown core. Best decision we have made as driving in downtown would be suicide.
The city is crazy , there is not the slightest respect in traffic , is the famous land where you have to look for yourself .

The downtown is very interesting , with many old buildings , beautiful churches . We also visited the Templo Mayor ruins that are right in the city center , it’s well worth . We spent the day walking around downtown.

Much madness and stress for a few hours, but it was worthwhile. At the end of the day we felt our eyes burning because of so much pollution 🙁
